SOLUTION
- Click an empty part of the page so nothing is selected, then click Background in the bar above the page.
- Click the crossed-out chip. The page becomes see-through (you'll see a checkerboard).
- Download → PNG. Transparency is kept.
JPG can't be see-through, so use PNG.
