Magic Layers put two people on one layer. How do I split each person?

I used Magic Layers on a photo of two people standing close together. The background and title came out as their own layers, but both people are on one layer, so I can't move them apart. Can I tell it where each person is?

SOLUTION

Yes. When people overlap, Magic Layers can see them as one shape. Point it at each person first:

  1. Undo the split with Ctrl+Z.
  2. Pick the Lasso (L) and draw loosely around the first person. A rough loop is fine.
  3. Run Magic Layers again. Whatever is inside the lasso becomes its own layer, and the rest is split as usual.

Each run uses one magic edit (20 a day on Free, 100 on Teams).
